ASME Morgan State Robotic Chassis V1 and V2

The Morgan State Robotic Chassis or MOROC, is a custom built educational robot curated for advanced middle and highschool students. The goal of the Robots are to show students the basics of creating robots while creating an opportunity for college students to build and test curriculum and flush out their communication skills. This Project has seen success as youth programs love the engagement it provides their students.

Version 1 was a very rough prototype that had the following stats:

  • 4 Wheel Drive
  • Temperature and Humidity Sensors
  • Wifi based Tele-operation and telemetry
  • Obstacle sweeping arm
  • and A partially enclosed Electronics Chassis

Version 2 Was featured a lot of improvements over the first version.

  • Dual Motor RWD W/ Ball Balancer as a 3rd point of contact.
  • Magnetic based chassis modularity
  • Hard-coded and Wifi based Tele-operation
  • A Fully enclosed Electronics Chassis
  • And a Version 2.5 that has more reliable components.

There is a demand for physical robotic curriculum that can teach the basics and not break the bank for budget tight schools and programs. We plan to not only provide the curriculum, but also the expertise of our student volunteers Who have great joy in traveling to schools to teach the new baseline for the next step wave of industry.
